The Challenge
Many learners in Zimbabwe study STEM subjects under difficult conditions:
- Limited internet access: data is expensive and connections drop, so online-only tools are unreliable.
- Outdated learning resources: textbooks and materials often lag behind the current syllabus.
- Lack of personalised support: large classes leave little time for one-to-one help.
Together these gaps go unnoticed until exams, which lowers performance and confidence in mathematics and science.
Our Solution
Crestline built AdaptiveAI Tutor as an offline-first progressive web application that runs smoothly on low-end Android devices. Lessons, practice questions and progress are stored on the device, so learning continues without a connection and syncs when one is available.
An adaptive learning engine based on Bayesian Knowledge Tracing estimates what each learner has mastered. It uses that estimate to deliver personalised content, recommend the next lesson, and power progress tracking and intelligent mastery tracking for learners and teachers.
